I'm deploying Office XP and I have noticed that if you enable the Group
Policy setting "Office XP\Tools | AutoCorrect
options...\SmartTag\Recognise SmartTags in Word", it seems to uncheck
and grey out the "Show Smart Tag Actions Buttons" checkbox in
Tools/AutoCorrect Options/Smart Tags within Word, thus disabling this
aspect of SmartTags altogether.
I was unable to find any information on this anywhere (incl. Microsoft
and Google)
- Has anyone else noticed this?
- It's not supposed to do that, surely?
- Assuming not, any ideas how to fix it?
We are applying the policy using Microsoft's Office10.adm (75,685
bytes, file modified 28 August 2001, 20:50:38), via Active Directory.
Our workstations are Win XP SP1. Office XP was installed via a fully
patched AIP using an Office Resource Kit generated transform file,
upgrading from Office 97. Outlook 2002 is not included, Outlook 2000
is retained instead.
