SMART TAG or COMMENTS BOX

G

GREGORY

Greetings,

I have a large VISIO Process Chart, it's too be to include explanations on the main document. I can link to another page within Visio but I would like to have descriptions pop up when the mouse hovers over a box. I don't want to use the comments because it include user name and date. Any suggestions for Smart Tags or something?

Thanks,

Gregory,

The best built-in functionality for doing something like this is Shape
ScreenTips (Insert > Shape ScreenTip...), which cause a ScreenTip to pop up
when the mouse hovers over the shape. This is only supported for shapes
though, and I can't tell if you want the information to be on shapes or on
the page.

Although they weren't designed for this sort of scenario, you could probably
use the ShapeSheet to mess around with the Visio 2003 comments and get
something close. After you're done adding the comments you want, you'd have
to go into the ShapeSheet to delete the dates from the comments in the page
sheet, and delete the name/initials from the author information in the
document sheet.
