Smart tags - date

Every time I type a date such as "1 November 2007" a so-called "smart tag"
pops up asking me to press Enter to make it "2007-1-11". Maybe this is a US
date arrangement, but there are no circumstances in this country (New
Zealand) where someone would want to write "2007-1-11". However, when typing
quickly, I press Enter without looking and find I now have "1 November
2007-1-11" which is silly in any country. How can I turn this stupid tag off?

That's not a smart tag; that's a ScreenTip. The only way to turn it off is
to disable AutoComplete entirely, which is a considerable loss. In Word
2007, AutoComplete works *only* for dates and can be disabled only with a
Registry edit.
