It turned out that 'smart tags' aren't all that smart after all.
<g> They're only as smart as the people who program them.
I "dabbled" in this for a while, and I can tell you it's orders of magnitude
more difficult to create a "multilingual" SmartTag than for just a single
language. And the person writing it also has to think of all those date
formats, write them out, and program for them. Each individually. It's
incredibly nit-picky and time-consuming.
For instance, there are many date formats in Word and smart tags doesn't
recognize a whole bunch of them.
I also type in French and although the options are the same, smart tags is
even worse at recognizing stuff in French.
