Smart Tags

I'm running Word 2002 and I have a problem with smart tags recognizing and
marking dates with the red dot underline. I went to Tools > Autocorrect
options > Smart Tags and the Date box is checked. When I select the Name box
and type in John Swith, it marks it as a Name. Any suggestions?

Only thought that occurs to me is whether the date is formatted in a manner the
SmartTag is programed to recognize? Maybe check the short and long date formats
you've specified in Window's Regional settings?
