Smart Tags

I have Windows XP, Word 2002. When I open up a folder I get a list of what
documents are in that folder. A Smart Tag pops up and covers up what I am
looking at, giving me what is basically under details on the tools menu in
this screen. How can I get rid of this Smart Tag (if that is what it is). I
have gone to to the Tools menu, AutoCorrect options and removed the smart
tags, but this one still pops up. Any help would be appreciated to rid myself
of this pest.

Thank you, Jeanne

How to turn off smart tags
To turn off smart tags in Microsoft Word, you'll have to do the following:

Choose Format | AutoFormat and click Options.
Click on the Smart Tags tab.
Deselect Label Text With Smart Tags.
Click OK to close the AutoCorrect dialog box.
Click Close.

How to remove smart tags from outside documents
If you receive documents from outside sources, you may find that those
documents have smart tags imbedded in them. To keep these tags from affecting
your internal systems, you'll need to perform the following to remove the
smart tags:

Open the document.
Chose Tools | AutoCorrect Options.
Click on the Smart Tags tab.
Click in the Remove Smart Tags button.
Click Yes in the dialogue box stating that all smart tags will be removed.
Click OK in the dialogue box that states all smart tags have been removed.

This Properties information is controlled by the Folder Options in Windows.
Open any Explorer/My Computer window and choose Tools | Folder Options. On
the View tab, clear the check box for "Show popup description for folder and
desktop items." FWIW, there are some users who rely on these popups and
complain that they don't pop up quickly enough!

Thanks, but I had already done this. Suzanne Barnhill's solution worked
though! Thanks again.
