smime.p7m / Signed e-mail

Hello all,

My boss has decided to have his e-mail signed. I think he has signed up to
verisign. When I receive an e-mail from him in Outlook I see a red medal icon
on his e-mail. I can also read this e-mail on my blackberry.

When my boss composes an e-mail offline and then sends it later, I get a
blue padlock sign on the e-mail. I can read it in Outlook when I am connected
but I cannot read it on my Blackberry or in Outlook Webaccess. All I see is
an empty e-mail and a smime.p7m e-mail attachment. The e-mail states it is
encrypted and i cannot read it.

This concerns me as I am on customer sites quite a lot and if e-mails come
to my blackberry empty i will not be able to read it.

My boss composes e-mails offline quite a bit as he travels on the train,
composes e-mails and then sends them at the same time.

Would anyone be able to explain this behaviour? Also, to fix this, is this
somethin we have to do an my boss's end or something on my end in order to
read offline e-mails?

Also, when I receive a signed e-mail, I cannot view it in the reading pane.
Is this by design? If not, how do you view it in the reading pane?

Many thanks,

Luke
