SMS thru Outlook/Exchange (using ADSL Connection)

I wish to automate sending & tracking SMS messages thru
Outlook/Exchange(Using ADSL Connection) to a external SMS Gateway Service
from another internal application (ie. Microsoft Dynamics NAV - Service
Module, CRM 3.0 Services/Scheduling Module, or natively using Outlook) as
either e-mail or SMS messages. In testing, I can directly send emails thru a
SMS Gateway by setting up a duplicate Contact for SMS transmission with an
email address (ie. "mobilenumber@SMSGatewayURL"), however this is tracked as
an email and not SMS.

The Microsoft Office SMS Add-in does not seem to be configurable for routing
SMS messages to SMS Gateways (ie. mobile@SMSgatewayserviceURL)
Has anyone implemented any alternative workarounds enabling an SMS Gateway
configuration.
TIA
Graham

I'm not sure i understand your question. Do you mean, you want to send
Email via Outlook, but "tracked" as an SMS message? To send email, all
you need is Window's SMTP service, there is no need for Outlook or
Exchange.

If you meant you want to track sent or reply SMS, you need a 2-way SMS
gateway such as http://www.kannel.org or http://www.visualgsm.com that
supports API or logs "sent SMS" to a database, so you can track replies
or messages sent out using an external application.

I want the second option.
1. A 3rd party application firing the SMS thru an API to either Exchange or
a SMS Gateway Service, and also track the SMS in the Exchange/Outlook
database.
The Visualgsm product may be a reasonable option,
Thanks
