Snapshot / PDF Outputing

I have a report that I have setup to automatically generate and save as a
snapshot report on our server. The report is around 20 pages and has several
pictures (total size of pictures saved as JPEG format is 35 KB). When I
output to snapshot, for some reason the file size bloats to 20 MB. If I
remove all the graphics, file size is 22 KB for all 22 pages. Any ideas why
the files size bloats so much? Also, any code out their for instead sending
to PDF (I have full blown version of Acrobat)

I can't be certain, but from the sounds of it, I suspect that SNP format is
saving your pictures as bitmaps, rather than in native JPG format. Try a
couple of other formats for your JPGs, like GIF, PNG, or one of the various
native Windows formats and see if you can get anything better. Might be
that you'll have to just live with it, or use something like WinZip or
WinRAR to compress the file before sending it. (Last I heard, WinRAR does a
REALLY good job on BMP files, especially if you tell it in advance that it
should treat the whole file as though it were a BMP...but I would only try
compression as a last resort.)

Re the PDF -- FWIW, I use a shareware called CutePDF (from website
www.CutePDF.com). Once installed, when you run a report and invoke the print
command, on your list of printers, PDF is an option. When selected a PDF
file is created. I've incorporated it in my application and it runs swell.
