I have a distributed application that installs the Access 2000RT, updated to
SR3. Typically, this results in Snapshot 9 being available, even though
Snapshot is not specifically listed in Add/Remove Programs.
There is a problem if Snapshot is installed separately and then removed with
Add/Remove Programs -- even if Snapshot is reinstalled, when the app opens
the form that uses the Snapshot ocx a dialog pops-up saying “Please wait
while Windows configures Microsoft Access 2000 SR-1 Runtime.†It then pops
up several dialogs about missing files. Eventually, the code continues.
This also happens when snapview.exe is launched directly.
If I try to apply SR1, I’m told the version already includes the update.
I have tried manually deleting the app, the runtime and Snapshot and
starting the install “fresh†with the same results. If I delete everything
and re-install just Snapshot, it still goes into the configuration dialog,
only it wants to configure Office.
Any ideas?
