Snooze default for reminders in Outlook - How to change?

D

Dana

It seems hard to believe that a person cannot change the default time that is
available for the 'snooze' when receiving reminders about appointments etc in
Outlook.

What a chore to individually change the selected default (sometimes '5 min
before start' and sometimes it defaults to "who knows what" . . . ) on
several different reminders. It also would be nice to change multiple
occurring reminders at one time.

A post from 5/06 stated that none of this could be done. I can't understand
why. Because these are popups? Does it relate in any way to how the
initial appt. was set?

BTW, I'm not savy enough to write any programs and need a simple way to
accomplish this process. Thank you

You can't. It's that way because that's the way MS designed it, not because
of any other limitations. No development effort has gone into the reminders
window since Outlook 97.

I appreciate the clarification! Your answer was concise and very informative.

So . . . my Treo phone can link with Outlook, I can beam information between
my Treo, laptop and other devices . . . however, there is no way I am able to
set the default for a simple snooze alarm in Outlook. Hmmm? Thanks again
Ken.

You can't without using a 3rd party addin, and that completely replaces the
Outlook reminders mechanism.

The story is the same in Outlook 2007, although that version will let you
get reminders from any folder in a loaded PST file instead of only from the
default Inbox, Calendar, Tasks and Contacts folders. Other than that the
reminders haven't changed.
