if the itouch uses itunes or activesync it will sync with outlook. There
are other sync tools listed at
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.asp -
none are free and none come from Microsoft.
The problem is not outlook- it's your email account. If you have an exchange
account, your data moves quite nicely between work and home, with anywhere
access to your email.
The problem is for those with POP3 and IMAP accounts - POP3 is not designed
for syncing to multiple machines and it can't store calendar, contacts, etc
on the server. Typically, mail is removed from the server when its
downloaded into outlook. IMAP is a little better (its designed for use on
multiple machines), but it only does mail, not calendar and contacts. There
are various hacks available to make it easier to sync calendar, contacts and
mail across multiple machines using these tow protocols but its not how
either protocol was designed to work.
Hotmail (MSN & Live) is more like Exchange in that it is designed for use on
multiple machines and does calendar and contacts.

Diane, Thank you for your response.
I would have thought that since many people have computers at home and
work,
that an outlook sync tool would be commonplace. After reading your post,
and
several others, it seems obvious that I will have to lug my PPC around a
while longer... at least until Apple comes up with a way for the new
iTouch
to sync...
Thanks again!

No, its not easy, unless you use exchange server. See
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.asp for methods.

Is there an easy way to synchronize Outlook data betweeen two
computers?
I
only want to synchronize Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes.
I currently use a Pocket PC and Activesync, however with new phones and
other things, the only reason I use the PPC is for syncronization
purposes.
If I could sync using a USB flash drive, it would save me having to
carry
around another device.
I currently use Windows XP SP2, Outlook 2003 on both computers I want
to
sync to. One is a regular installation, the other uses a corporate
Outlook
Excahnge server.
I would rather not get into copying PST files as this become a general
nuissance to accomplish.
