I installed Outlook Sync for PWA 2007 and it was working normally for one
day. I am now I am receiving a “SOAP Exception†“The server was unable to
process the last requestâ€.

The same error is occurring with Outlook 2003.

Hi,

I was just wondering if you have solved the problem.
We are facing the same problem.

Thanks in advance.

Not yet... It has been escalated to the MS. However, they have not responded
yet..

K and PP,

We've found two scenarios where this problem occurs. They are:

1. Scenario #1
a. There is an enterprise resource custom field with rolldown to
assignment and
b. There is an enterprise resource with a value for that custom field and
c. The resource has assignments in more than one project.

2. Scenario #2
a. There is an enterprise task custom field with rolldown to assignment
and
b. There is a task with a value for the task custom field and
c. The task has multiple assignments and
d. You are the owner of two or more of the assignments for the task.

To find all custom fields with roll down, you can run the following in the
published db:

select * from dbo.MSP_CUSTOM_FIELDS where MD_PROP_ROLLDOWN_TO_ASSN = 1
select * from dbo.MSP_PROJECT_CUSTOM_FIELDS where MD_PROP_ROLLDOWN_TO_ASSN =
1

If you can go and check to see if either of these conditions is true, what
you can do temporarily is turn off the roll down for assignment fields. I'd
be interested to know if this allows you to by-pass the problem.

Hi Adrian,

thanks for your answer.
I have checked the custom fields with roll down. (Cost Type; Team Name and
RBS)
I turned off the roll down for assignment on those fields.

And it works!

Do those custom fields have this option by default on?

Thanks

Thanks Adrian....

This has resolved the issue.

Are there any issues with turn off the roll down that I need to be aware of?

Will Microsoft be providing a patch for this? I imagine a lot of people are
going to be having this problem since it happens with a completely standard
setup. The only 'custom' fields which were a problem for me, were the
built-in ones! I think it would be hard to claim that this product has been
well tested. Oh well, with Project Server we're kinda used to having a lot of
stuff not work as advertised...

K and PP,

Sorry for the untimely response here. As you found, some of the custom
fields are shipped with the rolldown turned on. This is for convenience so
that the value that gets set on the resource or task also gets set
automatically on the associated assigments.

In most cases, you're not going to notice anything different by turning it
off. In the case of the RBS, however, if you're going to be using the
resource substitution wizard and things like that, then it could have an
affect. The obvious long-term solution is to fix the problem. As mentioned
before, I don't know when a fix will be available, but if you feel inclined,
do pursue whatever options you may have through the support organization.

Can someone tell me (Step by Step) how to turn off the rolldown for any
