SOCKETS?!? HELP

Hi there,
I was upgrading the drivers on my Daewoo 8000WP internal adsl modem and
Mcaffee came up saying a problem with the sockets. On reboot it can't renw
the IP address again mentioning sockets.
What are these sockets and how can I reinstall them to get a new IP address?

First step would be to ask the question in a newsgroup devoted either to
ADSL modems or sockets. This one is for Microsoft Access database software.
My guess is that visiting Daewoo's site might be even better.
