Software Engineer MAPI
Job Description:
IronPort Systems Email Encryption Group within Cisco is looking for
software engineering talent and experience to participate in the
ongoing development effort for its Email Encryption Products.
The Email Encryption Product team is responsible for the IronPort
Encryption Appliance (IEA), “Cisco Registered Envelope Service” (CRES)
an email encryption hosted service, encryption SDK and email client
plug-ins for sending encrypted emails from the desktop. We are looking
for a candidate who likes challenges, wants to work with a highly
talented group of people and with cutting edge technologies. You will
be working on a product that encompasses all email encryption
technologies and has been deployed to over 400 customers including
over 25 “Fortune 500” companies. This individual will work closely
with a cross functional team to design new features and improve
existing functionality and organize, participate in, and ensure the
success of ongoing development activities. Development will be in Java
and related web technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Own and drive development for all email plug-in products at
IronPort.
• Work closely with a cross functional team to design new features
• Write specification documents and drive sign-off
• Implement new features, maintain and extend existing functionality
Required Experience and Skills:
• 10+ years experience in design and implementation of windows
applications with good understanding of windows UI programming
• 3+ years experience working on MAPI, Outlook Object Model or other
office plug-in applications
• Experience developing plug-ins for browsers (IE, Mozilla) or desktop
applications
• General networking knowledge
• Must have relevant experience in writing and reviewing designs,
specifications, schedules, and resource estimates
Desired Experience and Skills:
• Prior experience with email technology or encryption
• Experience working with Delphi
• Exposure to Lotus Notes or Groupwise SDK and email client plug-in
models
• Experience working with JNI (Java Native Interface)
• Knowledge of deploying desktop applications through msi installers
• Experience working in java and a good understanding of HTML, XML,
XSL and related web technologies
