Software for mapping zipcodes??

This is not exactly an Excel question, but related. Hoping someone has an
idea.

I have a few thousand zipcodes in an excel file. I need to map them to show
the distribution of the zip codes around the country (US only).

Years ago, I used MapMaker for the Mac, but cannot find an OSX version.

Can anyone suggest a program that might work?
