Solution to Word 2000 not opening and freeze

The low resources message is false. I got this window with

350 MB of RAM available and resources >80%. All other

programs opened and ran fine.
User.exe is corrupted message is also false.
Search for file(s):
Normal.dot
Change to:
Normal.old
Re-start.
New Normal.dot file(s) are generated and should eliminate
problems of opening Word or screen freeze.
