I had been having a problem opening Word email attachements - I would get an
error message:
"Runtime error
Program:C:\Program Files\ Microsoft Office\ Office 10\ WINWORD.EXE
Abnormal program termination"
Clicking on the "ok" button would close everything out. I posted a question
on this site earlier, but the solutions seemed a little daunting to me. A
trip through the Microsoft Knowledge Base didn't seem much better - I figured
I'd end up doing more harm than good. I finally came across this site,
though:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541/en-us
It's a little program you can download from Microsoft called Guided Help.
It does all of the troubleshooting and repair work for you. If you don't
like what it does, you can undo it all by just running the program again and
selecting "undo". I didn't need to do that, though, because it fixed my
problem right away. Just thought I'd share this with anyone else who might
be having similar problems.
