Some help on Product Keys

Hi,

i'm getting a iBook for my 16th birthday in October, which should have
Microsoft Office 30-day Test Drive installed. I have a retail copy of
Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition which I have installed on
my Windows XP PC. According to the EULA and on the box, I can install
the software on up to 2 additional computers.
Is there a way, where I can activate the test drive to the Student and
Teacher Edition and use my existing CD key, instead of having to buy
another copy of S&T for Mac at a price of £109.99 and using that CD
key?

All help is appreciated

Thank You

No, sorry. Happy future Birthday and enjoy the iBook, though!

The Test Drive is not a version you can activate--in fact, you need to
uninstall it before installing a regular version.

I haven't heard of anyone trying a windows CD key on a Mac program. They
seem to be to the same pattern (25 digits) but I wouldn't expect it to work.

In general Mac programs are less antsy than windows programs--most of them
do not require activation on a particular computer, just the CD key when
installing--but few companies give you cross-platform
discounts/upgrades/etc.

You could check into NeoOffice, which is the OS X port of OpenOffice, and
free, until you feel like spending the money, if you decide to. MacOffice
does have some differences from WinOffice.
