SOME RECIPIENTS REPORTING BLANK EMAILS

Hi folks. I've been receiving an increasing number of reports back that my
emails are being received with a subject line only and a blank body. There
is no pattern that I can establish so far. It was happening intermittently
with one email address for quite a while but recently the number has
increased (or the number of people reporting it to me has increased).

I am using Outlook 2003 SP2, via Outlook Exchange, have Mail Format set to
HTML and Use Microsoft Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages. Encoding Option is
set to Auto select and the preferred encoding is Western Europe (Windows).

This is only happening on emails I send - I never receive blank emails. For
the original user who identified the problem, sending without the Use
Microsoft Word 2003 option usually worked.

This is now wrecking my head, so any help greatly appreciated!

I have the same issue in one of my offices. There seems to be a linking
factor though, they're attaching files to the emails. I have recently turned
off scanning of certain file types (PDF, XL?, DOC) to see if that will help.
I've read elsewhere that some suggest to turn off email scanning entirely,
which seems like absolute rubbish.

Hi Michael -

I'm almost certain that the problem related to a corrupt NORMAL.DOT in Word.

We wiped my profiles and everything was fine with email until we re-loaded
NORMAL.DOT (I wanted my own toolbar and macros back). The problem
immediately re-occured. Wiping NORMAL.DOT again solved it and no reported
problems since.

If you think this is useful I can have our tech. guy go into more detail for
you.

Sadly, I don't think that will help. We don't use Word as our editor. I'll
take a peek, though. Thanks.
