I have a rule in Outlook designed to catch spam and send it to the Junk Mail
folder. I'm trying to catch emails that are "spoofed" (Sent with my email
address in the "From" field) and invariably tell me to unsubscribe if I no
longer want the male enhancement messages (Right!).
The rule is the second one in my rule set. The first rule simply clears
categories on all incoming messages. The rule in question goes like this:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
Through the myemail account
and from myemailladdress
and with unsubscribe in the body
and on this machine only
move it to the Junk E-mail folder
and stop processing rules.
For some reason this rule does not always work. I still get messages that
fit the criteria exactly (spelling, capitalization, etc.) and are not moved
to the Junk folder. The word "unsubscribed" is not in a image (I can
highlight and copy it).
I have multiple email accounts and subsequent rules file the appropriate
messages to the correct inboxes correctly.
As a follow-on question, if I identify the IP address of a repeat offender,
can I specify it as filtering criteria in the header?
Any ideas?
