some scheduled appointments in a public folders' calendar disappear on their own

Greetings,
We're having a problem with certain scheduled appointments placed in a
public folders' calendar that disappear on their own. I know nobody is
deleting them. I found an older posting with the same question, but no
one posted a solution to the problem. I'm hoping this problem is a
known issue and that a solution to it is available.

We are using Ms outlook 2000 and MS exchange server 2000. We upgraded
from ms exchange 5.5 about 5 months ago. What should the default
permissions on public calendars be? I'm wondering if that could be the
problem after having done our exchange migration.
