Some text turned red and is underlined

Im in Windows XP with Office 2007 and using Word for a large text project.
Some of the text turned red and is underlined in red with a bar running down
the page on the left margin. How can I correct this without retyping the
text? Thanks

You have turned on track changes (Review tab). You will need to accept
changes and then switch this off.
