Hi, I am working with a site who is attempting to use an access database I
sent them.
I called them to walk them through editing a query, and was surprised to
tell me they didn't have a VIEW option along the menu bar (was trying to get
to Design view to edit the query). When I asked them to go to help>about
microsoft access to see what version they're using, they got a message like
"the help file is not installed".
Also, when opening the database there should be 2 "entries" on the taskbar.
One has the menu system showing tables and reports and queries, and the
other is a FORM in the database which opens automatically, and is how users
get to queries and such. But for this site, there was only one entry in the
taskbar, and it didn't have the normal access icon on it.
Any ideas what's going on with them? Is their version of access missing some
important component?
By the way, this database is in Access 2000 format, and was sent to them
directly from my computer where the database was/is working fine.
