Recently I and a coworker have been having some trouble sending files to
other people. We all are running Word 2003 SP1 on various platforms (mostly
Dells, some are desktops, some laptops)
Some documents (not all) that we send to other people cause their Word to
crash. They open the document, the text appears for a few seconds, and then
Word completely crashes with no error message. This happens whether it is a
doc file or an rtf file. The two of us who have this problem can open each
other's documents fine, and we can open documents from other people. It's
just other people who can't open ours.
This all seems to have started when we opened and worked on a document from
Mexico, which seems to have had the same problem...I.e. it crashed everyone
elses' Word.
Other documents that we prepare do not do this, but any document that
crashes them will always crash them. There are no macro viruses according to
NAV, and I didn't see anything odd in the macro organizer.
We're kinda at our wits end about what's going on here. Any clues?
