... something similar to PDF document security settings?

Is it possible to "lock" a word document (for both Mac and PC users) so it
is viewable, but uneditable ... something similar to PDF document security
settings?

Thanks,

John

Hi,

Yes, you can prevent editing by using Tools>Protect Document. The most
complete protection setting is to protect for Forms.

As with PDF, protection is illusory if you are trying to prevent people from
obtaining your images and text. Your text can be garnered from PDF or Word
and your images can be captured using screen capture. A printout of your
document can be scanned using OCR technology.

The safest way to not let anyone know your content is to simply never allow
them to see it (or hear it in the case of audio) in the first place.
