Hi Everyone,
I've had a bit of experience in using Access (currenlty 2007 version) and
have came across my latest problem, Access changing my hyperlink data.
I mail merged an email to a bunch of employment agencies using Word, Access
and Outlook.
Acess had placed a Mail to: infront of my email addresses, eg. mailto:
(e-mail address removed)#[email protected].
This confused Outlook, so I had to change the data to Text and manualy edit
every single record to remove the Mail to: part.
This seemed to fix my mailmerge issue.
Unless you intend to open hyperlinks from within your database you may as
well use text format if you just want a listing like I did.
The other thing I noticed was when I upsized my data to Microsoft SQL Server
the same sort of thing happend to my website hyperlinks.
Along with a few other types of data, I found that SQL server does not
support some data types.
I guess it really depends on what you are going to do with your data and any
issues with other programs you use it with.
