I was preparing a word document when i typed "=rand (1)"
and pressed enter.Suddenly the folling lines appeared in
my document
"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick
brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox
jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps over
the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy
dog."
I dont know from where the above lines came from.Did the
virus check too and found that my computer has none.I
tried this on other computer and had the same result. Is
this some kind of bug in the word?Any Solutions.

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick
brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.<---this sentence
included 26 letters

"=rand (1)" used to test the printer can print the total
26 letters or not.

It's a feature. This is a way to quickly generate text for testing and
demonstrations. The general form is =rand(x,y), where x is the number of
paragraphs to generate and y is the number of sentences per paragraph.
The default values for x and y are 3 and 5, respectively.

That's cool. How long has it been in Word?

Oh printer testing... thats helpful. Interesting that the letters "H" & "P"
are not included in the text. Coincidence??

I've often used it to generate random text to assist with planning page
layouts.
