I have a Sony VAIO computer and a HP PSC 950xi Printer/Scanner.
Recently, my computer is unable to import pictures from the HP scanner. I
open up Windows Photo Gallery and click on "import from scanner or camera"
from the "file pull down menu". My scanner is identified in the pop up
window; I click on the import button and the "new scan" dialogue box opens
up. Then when I click on either the "preview" or "scan" button, a dialogue
box opens (after a couple of minutes) that states "An error occured while
setting scanner properties. If another program is scanning, please wait for
it to complete and try again." When I first click on the "scan" button, my
scanner window displays "warming up", then says "scan canceled" when the
'error dialogue box' opens up.
When I click on the scanner icon in the device manager (under "imaging
devices"), it says "This device is working properly."
I used to be able to import scanned pictures, but no longer. I am able to
print documents.
Please advice what to check.
Thank you.
