Hi

Red faced apology here - I posted (at least I thought I did) sometime in the month of April under name of MaryS. I’ve come back to check the answers and can’t seem to find my post. Drats! I’m not too familiar with this site yet so at first I thought maybe you delete old posts (?). But I did a searched on MaryS and found an even older post I had made on the Publisher list – so I guess you don’t delete them. And, searching on MaryS seemed to work to find that old post. Maybe I’m just overlooking the post – can you help so I don’t have to bug you by repeating the question?

I don’t recall the exact title (OK, I’m learning some important lessons here) but it was on the topic of cleaning up old, unused media from a PowerPoint folder that contains many media files that are actually used. Not sure which media files are used and which aren’t - without making an extensive list by actually going slide by slide through the presentation. Does the PowerPoint presentation have somewhere in it a reference list of the media files actually in the presentation

Thanks so much
MaryS

Hello,

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality that you are looking for
without resorting to VBA or add-ins.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality (without having to resort to
VBA or add-ins), don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS,
please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
