sort by modified date- emai linking skews this.. fix?

Hi,

I often try to sort by date records in bcm were modified to see my recent
activity in updating contacts, but I have email auto-linking turned on.

Apparently, every time an email is linked, whether the contact's fields
were edited or not, the contact is considered "modified", which I
understand.

Unfortunately, this makes almost every contact modified in a space of a few
weeks. How can we filter for just modified FIELDS, or turn off the
inclusion of linking in the sorting of contacts by modified date?
