Sort Office Notifications in order of next event?

My office notifications are sorted in no order I can figure out.

I'd like the next event to be at the top, and the rest to cascade down
from there in order of when they become due.

I've rebuilt databases and reinstalled. Any help?

When I open Office Notifications, the preferences item in the O.N. menu
is greyed out. Normal?

TIA
