I think I've found a bug in MS Access reports from Oracle databases. I've
searched the knowledge base and did not find any reports of this issue.
I have two reports, one that lists without grouping, one with grouping. The
sort orders in both reports are the same. When I run these reports against
data within Access the records are listed in the correct order. When I run
the reports from Oracle, using either the Oracle or Microsoft ODBC drivers,
the records appear in different orders from the report without grouping
(order is the same in both Oracle and MS driver reports). The results are the
same regardless of whether the database is in Access 2000 or Access 2003
format.
My environment:
Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 installed.
Microsoft Access 2003 SP2 - (11.6566.8132)
Microsoft Oracle ODBC driver: Version 2.575.1117.00
Oracle ODBC Driver: Version: 9.02.00.65
Notes:
[1] I have checked list of Access fixes in Office SP3 and do not see this
issue listed.
[2] I have a demo database and scripts to create the oracle tables if anyone
is interested in confirming this bug.
