sort without risk of mixing up columns

I sorted a spreadsheet once without highlighting the entire sheet and
messed up all my data. Can I set up my sheet so that I can sort, but
only all columns? That is, I never want to sort one column without it
automatically linking the data with the other columns in the row. I
want the data in each row to always be the same. Any help?

bumpy,

There is no setting that will help you. Excel will ask prior to
sorting if you want to expand the selection, but only if you haven't
selected the entire current region. Current regions are areas bounded
by completely blank rows or columns, so to prevent it from happening
again (sorting without at least the warning), don't use completely
blank columns as separators.

HTH,
Bernie
