Sorting a Table created in WordPerfect and Converted to Word

I have many tables that were created in WordPerfect and some of these documents are over 100 pages long. When we converted them to Word, they converted OK; however, when you try to sort them (1st column is by date), it will not sort correctly. Is this because they were created in WordPerfect? Help!

Are the cells in your table in Date format? You want to
sort dates, but a standard text sort of a date is really
screwed up.

In the Sort dialog have you selected Date as the sort type for Column 1?

Show us some examples of the information in the cells of Column 1.
