Sorting alpha fields

Hi,

I work for a mailing company that address personalised
letters/envelopes ect but i am having a problem when
sorting a table by text fields. If i sort my table by for
instance street addresses then save the table everything
is fine, but when i export my table out of access my sort
order changes. it does not do this if i sort by numerical
fields like postcodes, only with text fields. If anyone
could shed some light on why this may be happeing that
would be great. I am currently using Access 2000.

Think of a table as a bucket to hold your data, nothing more. While you can
sort when looking at the table, it is a display item only. If you want the
records sorted when you use them, you either need to use a query or use the
Sorting and Grouping in the report's design.
