Hello
I have windows XP Home Edition, Though I have Microsoft
works I also have microsoft word, I made a table and
want to sort alphabetically. I have tried both ways (in
word and works) and cannot get the doc to sort. In word
when I click on tools>sort> then indicate column 1 - text-
ascending when I click on OK nothing happens. Can
someone help me. this is very frustrating.

Hi Jolentra,

It certainly works for me in Word. What sort of information do you have in
column 1 of the table.

Hi Jo,

The only thing I can think of:

"Table > Sort" sorts either the rows of a table, or a bunch of paragraphs
outside a table.

If your "table" has all the text in one table row, Sort can't work.

Greetings,
Klaus

Are you trying to sort on Last Name? It should work provided you have just
one name per row (cell).

Yes I am trying to sort by last name, maybe I should put
just the last name in the first column then make another
column for the first name?
