Sorting by Color

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) I have a spreadsheet of 4500 lines, some of which have been filled with a color to denote a change or deletion. Is there a way to sort the spreadsheet by color to make this a quicker process?

Not without VBA, no.

Sorry: you need to use a mark that is part of the "data", not part of the
"formatting" so that you can then use formulas to do things with it.

Although that capability has been introduced in Excel 2007 for the PC it
hasn't made it to the Mac version as yet. Perhaps it will be included in
2011 expected toward the end of the year. You might use Help> Send Feedback
from Excel's menu to register your reasons why it would be useful.
