sorting contacts by custom date

Is there any way to sort my contact list chronologically by the custom
date?? Right now I put in a date and it automatically turns 1/1/07
into Sat. December 1st, 07. Then it alphabetically sorts them with
all the Fridays first and all the Wednesdays last.

Try changing your date & time preference in System Preferences and see if
that will change the way Entourage is entering the data.
