sorting database records and criteria

I am using asp pages and fed access database.
When in the database results wizard, I want only the records that match the
criteria in a date field. i.e.
date field is called "dateend1"

Ive tried to put into the wizard <%=date()%> as the criteria for the field
called dteend1 (I only want records that equal todays date), however the
wizard tells me I cant enter this.
Any help would be appreciated
