sorting Emails by "Date Deleted" in my Deleted folder

Last night I accidentally deleted about 800 emails from my inbox. They are
all in my deleted folder along with about 6000 other deleted emails that I
haven't deleted. So now I have the 800 emails that I didn't want deleted
mixed in with my garbage emails.

Is there a way of sorting the emails in my deleted folder by date deleted so
I can move those emails back to my inbox? I don't want to go through all
6800 emails to find the 800 good emails.

Let me know if this is possible.

Thanks,

Heinz

May I ask WHY you have SIX THOUSAND emails in your deleted items? The
deleted items folder is NOT designed to store emails in.....if you want to
keep them, why not keep them in a "proper" mail folder?

S/He didn't say s/he wanted to keep them. S/He said that Deleted Items
hadn't been emptied. Not the same thing.

There is no "deleted date", but deleteing it will alter the Modified date (I
just checked). SO, use Field Chooser to add the Modified Date to the header
line and sort on that. The most recently deleted items will be together at
the top or bottom, depending on the sort order. Select them with
click/shift-click and drag them back to Inbox.

That is correct. I just had not deleted them. I receive a lot of JUNK Mail.

So, any thoughts on how to sort according to date deleted?

Thanks,

Brian,

Thank you for your response, however, this did not work, at least what I
tried. When I add the "Modified" column this track only the date the message
was read. So when I delete messages the "Modified" only reflects when I last
viewed it or opened it for the first time.

Try deleting a message that was in your inbox yesterday and then see what
that "modified" date it.

Sorry, any other suggestions? Thank you for your response.

As I already said. I tried it. The modified date reflected the date/time
of deletion.

Was the email message that you deleted view / opened at an earlier time?
From what I have seen, the date you open or read an email affects the
"modified" date.

Let me know.
