In the Inbox of Entourage 2008 you can sort mail by "Sent", "From", "Attachment", etc. Is there a way to sort mail based on whether or not it still resides on the source server, as is indicated by the mark on the left side of the envelope icon on the left of each mail item? Thanks,

No, but the icon would show it's still on the server. The icon with the pipe
shows it's on the server. An envelope shows it has been downloaded and
deleted from the server.

Thanks. FYI the capacity to have many messages on my own computer, a few of which also remain on the server, and to be able to quickly sort thru my messages to identify those on the server, can be of significant value. Eudora seems to be the only email product that allows that. Entourage is better than Outlook in that respect because in outlook there is no server message flag for each piece of mail that I am aware of.

Have you ever considered using an IMAP account?

You can view mail that is on the server only if you turn on online access in
the options tab of the e-mail account.
This will give you a separate online folder in the folder list and you can
view messages that are on the server in this folder.
Go to tools - accounts - double click the account - go to the options at the
top - check allow online access in the bottom and click ok.
