Sorting old dates

I have a file of descendents with birth dates that range from 1700 to 2000. I
want to sort the birth dates. The system bases all dates on 1900. How do I
change it to sort a wide range.

If the dates are expressed in YYYYMMDD format, they can be sorted as
plain text. If they're currently in some other format, you may be able
to use a macro to reformat them in a copy of the file. If you need
more specific suggestions, post back with more specific information
about what the file looks like.
