sorting on memo fields via creation date or last update

I use a todo form with four memo fields: short, long, emergency, personal.
Each contains dozens of items. The A to Z button is greyed out on the memo
fields.

Q1. I want to sort on creation date of the field, other times on last
modified. I think but am not certain create date on a field is different than
create date on a record, since each record contains the same four memo fields.

I use access 2000; guidance would be appreciated.

There is no built in create date or modified date on a field. If you need that
data you need to add those additional fields to the table and populate them when
records are edited.
