I am working on a research project (I am a graduate student) and have an excel file with a lot of biographical data on several thousand people, including several hundred data points.

It is simple enough to search for certain key words in the data, i.e., "nurse", and see which individuals are matched, but to manually sort through them all and delete those that don't match the search term is very time-consuming.

I am trying to figure out how I can narrow down my list using this search term. Any topics/functions that cover this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

Explore Excel Help re the features called:

List Manager
AutoFilter
Advanced Filter

With either you do not have to delete records in order to focus on specific
groups which have common criteria ‹ unless you choose to.
