Sorting slides between presentations

I have a few (approx 4) presentations the slides of which I wish to
redistribute between six other presentations. The problem is a just like
resorting the files in several Windows folders and moving them into a
different set of folders - except here we are talking about slides and
presentations. What is the easiest way to do this? I am using PowerPoint 97
but do have access to 2000.

I don't know if this is the easiest way, but ...

You could try using the Insert > Slides from file feature to combine them
all in one presentation. Then, you can use Slide Sorter View to put them
in the order for the six different presentations. Then you could delete
all the slides that you don't want in presentation 1 and use Save As to
save that. Then go back to the original and do the same for presentation
2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Sounds like a very good possibility. Be interested to hear if anybody has a
better suggestion.

I was going to suggest combining as per David and creating 6 custom shows but
I dont think its easier!

True. Especially as the 6 presentations are going to be just holding points
for slides that will eventually be used elsewhere - they will never be run.
And the combined size of all six might add up to 500Mbyte!

Chris,
I am going to suggest an entirely different approach. Instead of taking
those shows and re-distributing them whenever you change what is presented,
why not think outside the normal presentation box? Break the shows into
smaller pieces and create a menuing system to navigate to exactly what is
need when it is needed. For more information on a method of doing this that
