Sorting Tables

Jerry Kinder

Hi,

Can I sort a table in Word and have the blank cells at the bottom of the
sort not at the top?? If so how to do it?

Thank you,

1. Select the Table
2. Menu: Table/Sort
3. Define how you want to sort. select descending and blank cells go
to bottom.

But it is descending order. I suspect you want ascending order with
blank at bottom. So, just do it manually. Sort in ascending order (or
whatever you want, then cut the rows you want at bottom and paste them
at bottom.

If the empty rows are at the bottom & you want them to stay there select all
but those rows, the use the Sort feature. Likewise, if all the empties are
at the top select all but those rows. So if I understand:

Sort the entire table in Descending order [to have the empties settle at the
bottom], then select the rows which have content & sort as you wish.

It only becomes a problem if the empties are interspersed among the others &
you want to leave them where they are :)
