Sound file problem

I just purchased a new computer system with XP. I
transferred many song files from my old computer (98SE)
to the new one. In PowerPoint, these files can be
inserted and they play properly,

My problem is, when I download a new music file
(KazaaLite or Win MX), save it in the usual manner, and
insert in onto a PP slide, it will not play. It does
play via Media Player, but as soon as it's inserted onto
a slide, no deal.

Help, please!
