sound files don't play right

i'm using powerpoint 2004 for mac that came as part of the microsoft office
2004 mac student & teacher edition that i bought for my ibook g4. i've
inserted some songs (used aif format) and every time i re-play the file, it
seems they end on different slides. i tweaked them (changed the media
options under effect options under the custom animation choice) and seem
to have them about right (i.e. the first song ends and the second song
begins on the next slide). then i burned a cd--actually, did this twice after
more tweaking in between them--and the songs don't end on the same
slides as the master at all! now there are 6-8 slides that have no music...
i'm using a 2 second random transition between slides. can anyone help? i'm
trying to get them to my family as a keepsake of our vacation and they're
growing old waiting on me LOL thanks much in advance!!

This newsgroup is mostly frequented by PC users. There is another newsgroup for
Mac users. However, I don't think that the two versions of PowerPoint vary too
much when it comes to synchronizing events in your presentation, so you might
benefit from reading

sonia,

thanks for your prompt response...i'll try to find the mac newsgroup...for
some reason i thought this was it :)

i went to your website, too (the link wouldn't work but it rerouted me to
your home page and i was able to find the sync tutorial). sounds like unless
i want to make it a dvd presenation i'm pretty much stuck. too bad! is there
any way to tell it to play 3 different songs - one after the other - and not
have to tell it which slide to start the song on? i'm just so frustrated...this
doesn't seem like it's an unreasonable request--play 3 different songs in a
slide show??? just seems it shouldn't be so hard or, as it's starting to look,
impossible to do.

again--thanks for your help. it felt good to know my plea for help didn't fall
into the abyss of cyberspace :)

My choice for playing multiple files sequentially across slides is to splice
them together into a single file, using an audio editing program. I use Sound
Forge, but I know there are others that are less expensive and you might even
find on with a free trial period.
