Sound files that do not play

Greetings all!
I have a lot of sound files of narration that I am inserting into a
Powerpoint presentation. When the files enter with the .wav suffix, they play
perfectly. About ten of the files seem to have been converted into files
named "media 6" or "media 7," for example. All of the files come from the
same source. When the "media" files are placed in the presentation they do
not play. Is there a way to convert those files, so that they will have the
..wav designation? Many thanks for any suggestions.

Try saving the presentation as a web page. All the sound files should save
to a folder where you can edit them with a sound editor if needed.

Thanks for your help. I finally called Microsoft. They recommended a
conversion utility--I converted the files into .wav format again. Now they
play correctly.

Thanks again,

Jim

Care to share the name of the utility that Microsoft provided, so that we might
pass on to others who might be experiencing the same thing.
